Climate
In Setúbal (Portugal) we have a Mediterranean climate, very similar to the climate in Southern California. The climate is characterized by warm dry summers and cool rainy winters. These conditions are excellent for tourism during all year. The snow could fall in the mountains up North, although in Setúbal snowfall is a very rare event.
The native vegetation is adapted to survive those long hot and dry summers. For example: evergreen trees (Pines and Oaks); fruit trees (olives, figs, citrus, walnuts, grapes and almond); and some herbs (Rosemary, Thyme, lavender, coriander, and parsley).
In this time of the year, almond trees blossom right before spring.
